Sinai Sprouts is a twice-monthly program designed for preschool children and their parents or grandparents to play, grow and learn together. The program brings children and their families together to have fun while learning and building a Jewish identity. Children aged 3 to 5 are eligible for Sprouts if they are not attending regular kindergarten.
Through activities such as making puppets and other crafts, acting and role-playing, listening and making music—and more—we introduce children to the six big topics that they will continue to explore throughout their Jewish education at Sinai:
- Torah
Sample topics: Creation; the story of Noah and value of caring for animals; Abraham and how we welcome guests. - Mitzvot and Middot (Commandments and Virtues)
Sample topics: Caring for the environment; gratitude; forgiveness; honoring parents and grandparents. - Holidays
We explore holidays each year through a different story and craft. - Peoplehood
Sample topics: Our synagogue; signs of a Jewish home; Jews around the world. - Israel
Sample topics: Daily life in Israel; our sister city, Modi'in. - Hebrew
We introduce children to Hebrew letters and phrases through puzzles, games, and song.
