Dr. Muhammad Shafiq, International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) Chair and Executive Director, Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue, Nazareth University, has 45 years teaching, research and administrative experience. He is a founding member of the Commission on Jewish Muslim Understanding and of the Rochester Interfaith Networking Alliance (RINA). He has led multiple international intra- and interfaith leadership trainings and workshops. Locally, he has advanced a wide range of interfaith academic initiatives, including the founding and expansion of the Global Citizenship Conference (GCC) and Global Citizenship Immersion for High School Students (GCI), both of which bring students into dialogue with different religions - and with each other!
