YOUTH AT TEMPLE SINAI
What a Great Way to Gain Friendship!
S.A.W.C.Y (Super Awesome Way Cool Youth) encourages the strengthening of Jewish friendships and community building, while providing the opportunity for Jewish youth to get together and have fun. We welcome our 7th and 8th graders to join in September, and our 6th graders to join in January.
We have a variety of events from laser tag to Skyzone, from pizza parties to shul-ins, and Jewish themed and holiday events as well. Programming consists of approximately 2 events per month. SAWCY members play a big role in guiding programming by providing their input and ideas for future events.
Membership forms are available at the Temple Sinai office and can be returned there or at any event you wish to participate in. We hope that you consider becoming a part of SAWCY! Please feel free to contact the youth group advisor, Diana Seroski, at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or to set up a phone call.
Rochester Association of Temple Sinai Youth -- 9th-12th graders
Our Senior Youth group meets every Wednesday evening and additional times during the month for programs, which range from social to social action, to religious. Teens also get the opportunity to go to regional events during the year, and learn and socialize with teens from around the region.
RATSY is as enthusiastic as ever and if any members or non-members have any questions our advisors and board members will willingly give answers. RATSY is linked with NFTY, theNorth American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) affiliated with the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. Check out the NFTY link.
RATSY meets most Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00 p.m...come join us!
RATSY is rolling! Pizza in the hut was a big success and it was great to see some new faces!
We have some big plans for this year. Because of everyone's busy schedules, we will do one Wednesday evening program and an additional weekend program. The Wednesday programs will usually be the third Wednesday of the month, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Jewish friends in high school who don't go to Temple Sinai are welcome! Please contact the youth group advisor, Michael Pascutoi, at email@example.com.
Are you getting ready for college? Have you decided where to go, or are you thinking about where to apply? The KESHER Directory at www.keshernet.com/directory, will help you consider your Jewish experience on campus.
At college, where you encounter endless opportunities for getting involved in athletics, Greek life, cultural activities, and more, it is easy for the Jewish commitments of new college students to get lost in the shuffle. Attending a school with a strong reform Jewish community will provide you with an important outlet for Jewish expression. It will keep you connected as you move through these exciting next few years, and it will also enable you to continue contributing to the growth of Reform Judaism, for young adults are essential to keeping the Movement on the cutting edge.
Not all campuses are alike. Important partnerships will be available to you while in college, with the Unionfor Reform Judaism and KESHER, Hillel: the Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, HUC-JIR, with local reform congregations, and with student leaders and chaplins.
