Rosh Hashanah which will be held at Temple Sinai

Temple Sinai is pleased to offer four different morning service options for the first day of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur:

1. The Main Service will be led by Rabbi Katz and Cantor Braun and will take place in the auditorium. All are welcome.   Please plan to bring along a sweater as the auditorium tends to be cold.

2. The Family Service will be led by Rabbi Till and Eva Regan and will take place in the Hart Theater.  This service is designed for adults and for children who are old enough to engage with the traditional themes and liturgy. We shorten the prayer service, incorporate teaching and discussion into our worship, and retain the traditional chanting of both the Torah and Haftarah portions. Storytelling replaces the sermon.  Please plan to bring along a sweater as the theater tends to be cold.

3. A Children’s Family Service designed for children up to 3rd grade, along with their parents and any other interested family members will be led by Ilan Adar and Pauline Rosenberg. This service will take place on the lower level of the JCC and will begin at 10:00 AM. In this service families celebrate the High Holy Days together through song, stories, and other interactive activities. There will be a snack provided, along with an outdoor activity – weather permitting. Optional craft projects will be available.

4. On Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur mornings a Teen Service, sponsored by RATSY will take place in the Dance Studio for all those in grades 7 and up who are interested.

5. We will have babysitting available if we have a minimum sign-up of 5 children by September 1. Please fill out the sign-up for babysitting reservation.

6. A designated QUIET place will be located near the front desk. It is a space where children can relax and get away from loud noises and the over stimulation of the service. Parents are expected to accompany and remain with their children in this area before returning to the service.

With best wishes for a happy and healthy new year,

Your Religious Practices Committee
