Voting Information 2020

Judaism teaches us:  “Al tifros min hatzibur, Do not separate yourself from the community” (Pirke Avot 2:5).  “A ruler is not to be appointed unless the community is first consulted” (Babylonian Talmud Berachot 55a).

Voter Options 2020
  1. Early voting October 24th through November 1st:  To find where you can vote go to https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov
  1. Monday, Wednesday, Friday:  9 am- 5 pm
  2. Tuesday, Thursday:  11 am- 8 pm
  3. Saturday, Sunday:  9am- 3pm
 
  1. Vote on election day, November 3rd from 6 am to 9 pm:  If you are not sure of your election day polling site, go to https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov
 
  1. Vote by absentee ballot:  You can request an absentee ballot, in person, up to Monday, November 2.
  1. Completely fill in the bubble for your candidate of choice in each election, using only a black pen.
  2. Fold the completed ballot and put it in the security envelope.  (The security envelope is the one with a place for your signature.)
  3. Sign and date the security envelope in the space designated for the voter’s signature. (if you did not require assistance to complete your ballot, you can ignore the other signature slot.)
  4. Seal the security envelope. (This is important!)
  5. Put the security envelope in the return envelope, which is the one that is addressed to your local Board of Elections.  The return envelope should also be marked “Official Election Mail.”
  6. Seal the return envelope.

  1. Mail as soon as possible
  • Affix at least 55 cents postage
  • Postmarked by November 3 and received by the Board of Elections within 7 days.  The US post office suggest mailing all ballots by October 28
  1. In Person:
  • Drop off at any early polling site from October 24th- November 1st
  • Drop off at the Board of Elections, 39 West Main Street by November 3rd
  • Drop off at your polling site on election day, November 3rd
