Getting to know YOZMA

Yozma is an acronym for "Yahadut Zmaneinu Mreshet Ha'Am" which means "Judaism of our time, Heritage of our People"

Yozma also means "Initiative" in Hebrew.

Kehillat YOZMA is the reform congregation of Mod'in: Israel's "City of the Future".

YOZMA and Temple Sinai are Sister Congregations. Temple Sinai has taken the initiative to create this union.

YOZMA was founded in 1997 under the leadership of Rabbi Kinneret Shiryon, Israel's first female rabbi and a core of dedicated activists.

YOZMA is the focus of the Israel Committee of Temple Sinai, which plans to develop youth and adult programming between our two congregations.

YOZMA is responsive to the dynamics of both Reform Judaism and Israel society.
