Join with congregants and friends from other faiths for an interfaith service to face the grief we feel over the horrendous destruction because of the Gulf of Mexico oil blow-out. We will use our ancient holiday of Tisha B'Av, a day of mourning and fasting which commemorates the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, to feel our grief, not for grief’s sake, but for life, and for action. Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Native American, and Hindu leaders will be joining us to add their prayers. Click here for event progam and actions you can take.

Way to Go! - Rabbi Sapowith has committed to making a meaningful connection between Judaism and our environment in each Young Family service this year! They are great and enlightening for members of any age so come and catch some eco-Jewish wisdom.
- Temple Sinai is proud to be the recipient of a $9126.50 grant administered by NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority) and funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (AARA). The grant will completely fund an Energy Conservation study to identify energy and water efficiency improvements and support applications to upcoming project implementation funding opportunities.
- We have switched to 30% Post Consumer Content recycled FSC certified paper for our white paper copying. By using recycled paper we save not only the valuable resource of trees but also reduce energy and water consumption and dramatically reduce waste water and landfill.
- Switching to reusable dishes and mugs not only saves garbage bags full of waste but saves money too!
- We have several compost piles located around the grounds where we compost garden waste. This Green Waste biodegrades naturally and reduces the amount transported to and buried in landfills.
