Snack is available prior to the beginning of class. The cost for each snack item is 50¢.
Unless otherwise noted by parents, students are allowed to purchase no more than two items.
Sason:
At the end of this school year, Susan Krasner has decided (for genuine personal reasons) to resign her position as our Sason music director and music teacher. Finding an appropriate replacement for Susan could be a very hard task to achieve. Extreme luck, however, was on our side: Mrs. Leah Sherman has expressed interest in taking Sason “under her wing” and continue the wonderful work Susan has done during the last four years.
Mrs. Sherman is originally from Williamsville, NY (Suburb of Buffalo). She graduated from Fredonia School of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and is about to finish her Master’s Degree in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music.
In 2004 (to present) Mrs. Sherman was hired by Churchville-Chili to be their Fifth-Eighth grade Vocal and General Music teacher: She teaches Fifth grade chorus made up of about 130 students; Sixth grade chorus made up of about 110 students; and auditioned chorus made up of Fifth and Sixth grade chorus members that meets once a week after school called “Surround Sound.” With her choruses, Mrs. Sherman likes to focus on music from other cultures, singing in various languages (i.e., Swahili, Hebrew, Spanish, Japanese, German, etc.). Mrs. Sherman believes that music is a great way to expose students to other cultures and languages.
In addition to her work with the school choruses, Mrs. Sherman is a singer and plays guitar, piano, African drums, and percussion.
