New Chavurah Forming

Chavurah can be defined as the spirit of the Jewish community manifested in a group of like minded people looking for ways to celebrate their heritage and religious views together.  They are often an extension of the Jewish establishments available within a community.

The Temple Sinai Membership Committee is trying to establish several new Chavurahs within our community, specifically for

  • Families of young children
  • Families of elementary school children
  • People whose children are out of school or never had children.
  • People who ???

Are  you currently a member of a Chavurah?

In addition to forming new Chavurahs, we would also like know about any established Chavurahs.

If you are interested in being a part of a Chavurah, or you are currently in a Chavurah, please fill out this form

Friendship Group

Why not join our “seasoned citizens” group. Dues are only $3.00 per year. If you’re old enough for AARP, then you’re just right for our Friendship Group. Call Leon & Florence Sporn for information at 586-2443.

If you are not already a Friendship Group member and if you are a “seasoned” citizen, (old enough for AARP to be sending you mail) then you are just right for our group. We do nice, fun things such as dinner, lectures, day trips, theater, museums, etc., etc. Give us a call if you have any questions.

One of The Friendship Group's long-standing traditions is to attend the annual November production of The PITTSFORD MUSICALS Co., followed by an early dinner at a nice restaurant. Their performances and choreography are outstanding. This year's musical will be "CAROUSEL" at Pittsford-Sutherland High School, Sunday, November 15th at 2:00 P.M. followed by dinner at BOCACCINI'S RESTAURANT in Pittsford. Call Leon for details regarding tickets, restaurant location and/or dinner reservations.

ANOTHER OF OUR 'ANCIENT' FRIENDSHIP GROUP TRADITIONS IS GOING TO A CHINESE RESTAURANT ON DECEMBER 25th. This year, December 25th is on a Friday. Therefore we have arranged for our CHINESE DINNER to be at TEMPLE SINAI where we will enjoy SHABBAT SERVICES and DINNER. WE INVITE ALL TEMPLE SINAI MEMBERS AND THEIR FRIENDS TO JOIN US. This is a SHORT SERVICE AND A FAMILY DINNER. There will be A CLIP-OUT COUPON IN THE DECEMBER BULLETIN to send in your payment.

Does this sound like a good time? You bet it does! If you're old enough for AARP you're just right for The Friendship Group. Call Leon and Florence Sporn at 586-2443 for membership info.
